So today isn’t my actual birthday (which in on Wednesday) but tonight was the only night I got to be back on the SMC campus and celebrate with my friends here. It was originally supposed to be this big thing, but what it turned out to be was quite perfect. With everyone celebrating the Lunar New Year, we weren’t able to go to Pho Saigon like we originally wanted to, so the restaurant changed to CPk… then it really hit me: it’s cold and wet outside, I’m stressed out, all I want to do is be comfortable in sweats, and having a nice time with everyone…so why go through the trouble of having some nice sit down dinner!? So when that all came to mind, I thought the best way to spend my early birthday celebration was to go to Quickly, get some milk tea and fried foods, and just be eat and relax. It really was something that I needed. Commuting from home this JanTerm and never really being on campus has really made me absent from my friends…and because of that, I haven’t been able to develop the suuuper strong relationship with them all. I get really sensitive about that because I really don’t have a lot of friends, and I like the ones that I have made here…so not seeing them as much really bums me out. So going to Quickly, chillin in the gameroom, and going back to Weinz and Twins room to just hang out for a bit was such a great thing. I got to hang out with people who I think I can really connect with and become great friends with. 

Thank you so much Geneva, Twin Shelley, Weinz, Johnny, Irie, Jello, Sam, Hillman, and Darryl for being with me tonight. It really meant a lot to me <3 

My birthday week has just begun…I hope it continues to flow on this positive note!
